作者說他們的團隊分散在三個地方
Location A: developers only
Location B: testers and the product owner
Location C: testers, developers, and the scrum master
此外, Location A在不同時區, 和別人有5個小時的差異
因此這樣的狀況下, 單純的任務版(task board)很難以daily basis的方式運作良好, 可能適當的電子化文件可以代替大多數的sprint artifacts.
可是一些sprint的會議要怎麼辦呢? Daily scrums, review, product demo, sprint retrospective, sprint planning要怎麼進行呢? 如果只是用email, phone call, 這會議會很難有效率, 並且結果也不容易產生
作者的做法如下
1. 利用video conferencing system連結所有的要開會的地方.
- 所有成員會變成在一個虛擬的會議室內開會
- 他們看到對方, 並且可以直接面對面和每一個人溝通
2. 使用remote desktop system
- 一個地方當master, 其它地方當client 連進來
- 他們可以即時分享所輸入的資訊
甚至在demo會議時, 作者由location C 準備要demo的系統, location A的RD來講解, 然後給location B的product owner來review. 利用上述兩種工具, 他們就能進行遠端展示, 以達到快速回饋.
所以作者認為, 如果你要處理distributed scrum meeting, video conferencing systems and remote desktop systems是不可或缺的利器
